1995: Asteroid mining predicted for 2025

Tomorrow's World, the BBC's programme about science and technology trends, celebrated its 30th anniversary in 1995 by looking forward another 30 years.

Reporting as if it were the year 2025, they claimed that the earth's dwindling resources meant we turned to asteroids to mine precious metals, while debris created by years of exploration led to "space junk's first victim".

Originally broadcast on 7th July 1995.
