    *Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 2-1 Draper

Draper is on the board in set three but it looks like a long way back at this point as Bublik crunches a forehand winner to the baseline.

But, an opening for Draper? He hangs in there and forces deuce.

  2. 'It is so important to keep the scoreline as tight as possible'published at 17:58 British Summer Time 2 June

It was so important for Jack Draper to get that service game under his belt. It will be a huge relief for him.

I don't think, by any stretch of the imagination, that this match is over. He still has the chance to get back into it, there is always a chance that Alexander Bublik will suddenly lose it a little bit.

    *Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 2-1 Draper

In the build-up to this match, Bublik brought all of his personality and humour to the news conferences. Almost dismissing himself at times.

But he has been supreme here.

He takes all the pace off Draper's serve and delivers a stunning deft drop shot, leaving the Brit looking seriously concerned.

But Draper rallies to take the hold. An important one if he wants to get back into this.

This is extremely worrying. This is a bit of a crisis moment, isn't it?

Alexander Bublik is playing such contained, solid and intelligent tennis. Everything thing he's doing right now is in a zone. He has hit a purple patch and he is looking inspired. Everything he is touching is turning to gold.

And Jack Draper is looking a little lost out here... he doesn't know what to do or how to halt this kind of momentum from Bublik.

Draper just can not find the answers at this point.

The shot selection, the confidence. It's all there from Bublik.

He takes the hold as Draper misses the forehand and consolidates that break.

Draper's got it all to do here.

Bublik has nailed his drop shots all match but he crunches a backhand across the court and Draper can only stare.

Three break points for the Kazakh.

Draper needs a break - mentally more than physically, I feel.

He goes off to the loo for what I presume will be slap across the chops with some cold water.

Maybe a few sharp words to himself in the mirror, too.

  9. Game and third set - Bublikpublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 2 June

A brilliant set of tennis from Bublik while Draper seemed all over the place.

The Kazakh has showcased variety and precision to take the lead in the match for the first time.

Poor first serve? No problem. Bublik hits an ace on his second serve.

He smiles up at his box and shares a joke. He's enjoying himself out there.

He goes for the same tactic on his next serve but this time double faults. All or nothing.

You can tell that Jack Draper is just contemplating what's going on out here.

Tennis is so interesting when it comes to match-ups, especially on different surfaces, because when we think about how Draper has demolished so many opponents in the last few months it has very much been about big serving and big forehand strikes.

Bublik has been so clever in not allowing Draper to play his best tennis. Bublik is a major disruptor.

Another solid service game from Bublik consolidates his double break and after just 22 minutes the Kazakh is one game from taking a 2-1 lead in sets.

Time for Draper to write this set off as a bad job and focus on set four?

You can see the stress on Jack Draper's face as he marches back out to the baseline.

A lot of tension and a lot of shock.

In the past he has used breathing techniques to get through difficult moments and took a few sharp inhales on his chair there.

Bublik, in contrast, is as happy as Larry. Little grins towards his box indicate he's feeling fly.

  16. 'Victory 101 is the most important now'published at 17:34 British Summer Time 2 June

    Norrie 2-6 3-6 2-6 Djokovic

Here's what Novak Djokovic had to say following his straight-set win over Cameron Norrie:

"I feel good, I expect each day to play better and better. I've played 12 really good, solid sets so far and everything is looking good."

On achieving his 100th win at the French Open: "It's a good number, a happy number for me, but the 101st victory is the most important for me now.

"I'm happy to add to the history of this court which has given me so much and I would like to hope there will be another victory for me in a couple of days."

Finally, asked about Paris St-Germain's Champions League win, he said: "Congratulations to PSG. It was complicated [trying to sleep that night] with the noises outside the hotel. It was quite the show."

A fitting end to a poor service game from Draper. A double fault.

He's looking way out of sorts here in set three as he falls a double break behind.

Draper was hot-headed when he was a teenage player and, every now and again, we see that re-emerge.

An angry swipe of the clay on the baseline does NOT go down well with the Roland Garros crowd.

This red dirt is sacred, you know. Cue the inevitable whistles and jeers.

It's another break point for Bublik.

This has not been Draper's best service game.

  20. 'Bublik must be a nightmare for any player'published at 17:31 British Summer Time 2 June

    Bublik 5-7 6-3 3-1 Draper*

    Annabel Croft

Alexander Bublik must be a nightmare for any player.

He is one of those players that you can't always control the tempo against and you can't always tell what he is going to do next.

He is that talented that, most of the time, he can just control it. He is also getting under Jack Draper's skin now as well.
