Which teams put a shift in this season?published at 08:03

Bournemouth and Tottenham were the most physical teams in the Premier League this season when considering the distance they covered and the number of sprints performed.
The results might explain why they had a lot of injuries.
Newcastle and Brighton were not too far behind though, with Brighton actually covering the most ground in the league, with fewer sprints.
Chelsea and Liverpool's style of play saw them sprint a lot but not cover a lot of ground, while Manchester City and Arsenal were the opposite (ran a lot but didn't sprint a lot).
Nottingham Forest very much had their own style of play this season as they both ran and sprinted the least.

Alongside a photo of the city's Liver Building behind red smoke, Van Dijk added: "Praying for a speedy recovery for everyone who suffered injuries. We are all with you."
Earlier on Tuesday, Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan said: "On behalf of all of us here at Liverpool Football Club, I would like to extend our heartfelt thoughts to all those who've been affected by this appalling incident on Water Street.
"This weekend was one of celebration, emotion and joy spread across the city in our entire fanbase, and it ended in unimaginable scenes of distress.
"I'd like to pay tribute to our emergency services and partner agencies – Merseyside Police, North West and St John Ambulance Services, and Merseyside Fire and Rescue – who dealt with the incident, and now our hospital staff across the city who are dealing with those who are injured, including tragically four children."

Liverpool's anthem You'll Never Walk Alone "has never felt more appropriate", Sir Kenny Dalglish has said.
Anfield legend Dalglish says he was "shocked, horrified and deeply saddened" by the incident at the end of Monday's parade in the city.
He sent his thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted and added: "Your Liverpool family are behind you."
Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said on Instagram: "My family and I are shocked and devastated. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who are injured and affected."
Everton released a statement saying the club was "deeply saddened by the horrific incident", adding: "As a city we stand together."
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: "The scenes in Liverpool are appalling - my thoughts are with all those injured or affected.
"Liverpool stands together and the whole country stands with Liverpool. My thoughts and the thoughts of the whole country will be with Liverpool today.
"I want to thank the police and emergency services for their swift and ongoing response to this shocking incident."
Liverpool's staff celebrations planned for Tuesday are understood to have been postponed because of the incident.

A man has been arrested after a car hit a number of pedestrians in Liverpool city centre during the Premier League victory parade on Monday.
A car collided with a number of pedestrians on Water Street just after 18:00, Merseyside Police said.
In a statement the force said: "We were ed at just after 18:00 today, Monday 26 May, following reports a car had been in collision with a number of pedestrians on Water Street.
"The car stopped at the scene and a male has been detained."
Police later said a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area had been arrested and that he was believed to be the driver.
The incident is not being treated as terror-related and is believed to be isolated, police said.
The ambulance service said 27 people had been taken to hospital for treatment, with two, including one child, seriously injured.
Another 20 people were treated for injuries at the scene, with four children among the injured.
Four people including a child were lifted from beneath the car, Merseyside chief fire Nick Searle said.

'This one feels so much bigger'published at 18:13 26 May

Mike Hughes, BBC Radio Merseyside reporter: "There are so many people in the city of Liverpool today - it's fantastic to see. Everyone is in great spirits.
"Crowds of people have been streaming along Ranelagh Street and Hanover Street towards the waterfront.
"We've obviously had homecoming parades in the city before, and I've covered many of them, but we've got so many people from near and far this time.
"This one just feels so much bigger."
Paul Salt, BBC Radio Merseyside presenter: "I've covered Liverpool parades before - 2001, 2005 and 2019, for example - but I've never, ever seen anything like this.
"Five years ago under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool won the Premier League, but none of the fans could share the moment with the players. So today is about celebrating 2020 and 2025.
"A lot of Scos have grown up with stories from their parents and grandparents about the days of Shankly, Paisley, Dalglish etc.
"Well, today is this generation's day - for them to talk about for years to come."
Players ready to embrace red riverpublished at 12:46 26 May

"A lesson in logistics."
That was what one gent told me in Liverpool on his morning walk. He was discussing making plans for the Premier League trophy parade.
Another told me he was out early to find a "parking spec for later" so he could get his 80-year-old dad and his toddler close enough to the start point.
From Allerton Maze, Liverpool's players will cruise a red river today. It will houses decorated for the occasion, it will screaming fans, it will smoke and be a general outpouring of pride and mayhem.
The smell will live on clothes, the love will be shared and the images will stay stored on camera rolls and in minds.
The Strand, where the river finishes, will hear song, be drenched in confetti and by the end of the day wear the look of a road that has taken an unusual hammering.
Liverpool moved to their own rhythm this season and today their bus will float down its river of glory.
Shankly famously told the masses that he "drummed it into our players time and again that they are privileged to play for you".
Today, this modern crop will see, up close, exactly who it is that they play for.

'Priority was to get our hands on the trophy' but 'big investment' neededpublished at 11:54 26 May

After Liverpool finally got their hands on the Premier League trophy and celebrated in front of their fans, we asked for your feelings on the Reds' season.
Here are some of your comments:
Paul: What a club! We found a way to win when at times we shouldn't have. The celebrations were a release for all the frustrations of being pipped at the post on the last day and not being able to lift the trophy with fans. My bottom lip went when we sang YNWA to the team and staff. So emotional.
Reg: Very happy we are champions thanks to a fantastic 2024 - but during 2025 we were never as good. Thankfully the title looked secure, but tired legs and a lot of substandard performances in 2025 showed we needed to strengthen the squad.
Stephen: Performance was OK on the day, but the main priority was to get our hands on the trophy and celebrate with the fans. What a season we've had and it'll only get better for our great club. Special word for our manager Arne Slot - what a manager, what a job he's done. Made the Premier League look easy to win, and he's done it with hardly any money spent. That alone deserves a mention. Now, we can celebrate properly, unlike in 2020, and then we go again next season and have another outstanding season next year. Up the mighty Reds!
Dave: Very happy with the season, standout players for me - Salah, Mac Allister and Van Dijk, but all played their parts. Right, now to invest in transfer market as the drop-off from first-choice side to rest of squad was marked, most notably when the midfield was changed in extra time v PSG. This could be just the start of an era of success, especially if the mooted gs appear.
Mike: It is obvious there needs to be big investment and a clearout of some of the current squad to repeat this year's efforts. These past few games have shown there needs to be a different mindset. Collectively we can win games but we don't have individual winners of games.
'Absolutely sensational' - Shearer on Salahpublished at 10:08 26 May

Arne Slot's side cruised to a record-equalling 20th top flight title and Mohamed Salah more than played his part.
Liverpool scored the most goals in the Premier League this season, with the Egyptian scoring 29 of their 86, and finishing the season with 18 assists.
Speaking on BBC's Match of the Day, the Premier League's all-time leading goal scorer Alan Shearer was full of praise for Salah.
"What a season, what a player," he said. "Twenty nine goals in the league and 18 assists. It's just ridiculous consistency from this guy.
"He very rarely misses any games and the brilliance he brings to Liverpool [is so important]."
Salah scored on the final day to tie the record for most goals and assists combined in a Premier League season - along with Shearer and Andy Cole.
"Once he gets on [his left foot] he really is deadly and he's an incredible player," Shearer added. "Obviously he plays in a really good team and good teams need great players. There's no doubt he is that and he's been absolutely sensational.
