Who is Omega in Doctor Who? Prepare for the return of a classic villain in the season 2 finale

As the Reality War begins to rage, Wish World becomes the harbinger for the return of one of the Doctor’s oldest and most powerful foes – Omega.

A renowned and respected solar engineer and founding member of Time Lord society, Omega is credited with creating the Hand of Omega, a device that allowed the Time Lords to enable travel through time and space.

The Hand of Omega utilised the power of exploding a star inside a supernova. The Time Lords believed Omega was swallowed by the blast and gone forever. Omega was actually trapped in an anti-matter universe and wrongfully believed the Time Lords had abandoned him, causing him to feel resentment for the Time Lords and paving the way for Omega to become one of the Doctor's greatest enemies.

Omega first appeared in a 1972 four-part episode titled 'The Three Doctors', with the First, Second and Third Doctors going head-to-head against the dangerous Time Lord.
