Northampton sign Rotherham striker Tom Eaves

Northampton Town have signed Tom Eaves from fellow League One side Rotherham United.
The 32-year-old 6ft 5in former Oldham Athletic, Bolton Wanderers, Yeovil Town, Gillingham and Hull City striker Tom Eaves has penned an initial two-year deal.
Eaves, who still had a year to run on his existing contract, has become Northampton Town’s sixth summer g to follow striker James Wilson and goalkeeper Nik Tzanev, Salford striker Callum Morton, Colchester midfielder Cameron McGeehan and Ross County defender Jack Baldwin.
Eaves has scored 88 goals in a 406-game career that also took in loan spells at Shrewsbury Town (twice) and Bury, including six last season for the relegated Millers.
“Tom is a quality addition to the squad,” said Cobblers boss Jon Brady, external.
“He has a physical presence about him. We believe he will blend and balance well with the other strikers.
“He isn’t just all about being a physical presence though. He is very mobile and he is capable of skilful finishes as his record shows.
"He has a good goal to games record. And he finished last season strongly in the Championship, scoring twice on the final day of the season."
