Nathan Wood's one Newport goal came in the Football League Trophy against Cheltenham

Newport County midfielder Nathan Wood has ed Cork City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old has scored once in 18 appearances - only three of which have been League Two starts - since ing the Exiles last summer.

But he will spend the rest of the campaign in the League of Ireland First Division, its second tier.

Wood, a Newport fan, ed the club from Cymru Premier side Penybont, g a two-year deal.
