The government's giving doctors and teachers in England a 4% pay rise after accepting salary recommendations from pay review bodies.
The awards are higher than the 2.8% the Treasury previously budgeted for, so will this be enough to ward off industrial action.
Education unions have broadly welcomed the decision, but the doctors' union, the BMA, says it's “woefully inadequate.”.
