Yusef resorts to extreme measures when he fears Zainab may be slipping from his clutches. Lauren struggles to come to with Tanya's bombshell, and Ben takes up boxing.
Syed wants nothing to do with Zainab until she apologises. Zainab’s confused, sure she threw Amira’s number away. Yusef tries to give Zainab new pills, but she’s determined to come off them completely. Feeling guilty, Zainab wants to tell Masood everything. Yusef grinds up some pills and spikes Zainab’s dinner. Masood and Tamwar persuade Afia not to check on Zainab. Woozy, Zainab staggers to the sofa. Yusef tucks a pill bottle into Zainab’s hand, kisses her then leaves. Zainab lies, drugged and lifeless, with Kamil playing beside her.
Tanya tries to end Jay and Abi’s relationship. Lauren’s worried about Tanya, Tanya insists she just needs one operation and she’ll be fine. She doesn’t want anyone else to know about the cancer. Vanessa insults Tanya and Lauren, Lauren stands up for Tanya. Lauren realises Tanya’s been to the hospital; Tanya claims it was routine. When Lauren insists on sorting the salon out, Tanya snaps at her about Darren. Later, seeing Cora ushering a tearful Lauren into the Vic, Tanya rushes over sure Lauren’s about to reveal her secret.
Jodie’s missing Darren and can’t afford her rent or wedding bills. Poppy insists they’ll take everything back or sell it and later suggests she move in with Jodie. Poppy accuses Lauren of stealing Jodie’s job. Lauren flees, upset, when Jodie insists no-one can rely on her.
When Kat and Alfie go out, Jean can’t cope behind the bar. Norman and Pat step in to help. Encouraged by Pat, Jean invites Norman to dinner. To avoid a quiet night in with Alfie, Kat goes out with Kim.
Phil and Ben spar in the boxing ring. Phil laughs when Ben falls over after missing a punch. Ben decides to the gym, show Phil he can’t be pushed around. Ben and Christian train, Ben’s distracted by Duncan.
