Michael's concerns about Jack continue to mount, and when tensions reach boiling point, Alfie is on hand to help. A desperate Masood turns to Phil in his hour of need.
Jack tries to keep busy. Michael finds Jack taking his frustration out on Jay in the boxing ring. Jack’s still furious with Michael for kissing Ronnie. Alfie asks Michael if he wants to see Tommy, Michael reassures Alfie that he’s Tommy’s father now, not Michael. Prompted by Michael, Alfie finds Jack in the gym, and talks to him about his own grief. Jack cries, upset he never got to say goodbye to James. Alfie tells him they did, they said goodnight and kissed him. Alfie leaves and Jack gives way to tears.
After upsetting the kids, and Ricky, Carol tries to persuade Whitney to come home. Later, Dot suggests to Whitney the arguments at home are normal and not her fault and urges her to let Ricky be her father. Whitney returns home.
When Ben comes home covered in bruises he doesn’t it they were caused by Nathan, a boy from school. Ben’s nasty to Heather when she suspects the truth, but later apologises. Patrick tells Heather he can relax on holiday knowing she’s in charge at the Minute Mart. To Heather’s delight, Kevin68 invites her on a web date. Jay’s finds Ben on the computer and discovers ‘Kevin68’ is him.
Zainab’s embarrassed by their lack of money, especially when her card won’t work in the Minute Mart. Masood asks Phil to let him play poker on his behalf and split the winnings. Yusef offers Zainab £10,000. She its it would help, but refuses to accept the money. Patrick wins money on the horses and asks Zainab to cover his hours at the Minute Mart whilst he’s on holiday.
Janine insists to Pat that she’s happy to look after Lydia. Later, in the pub, Janine’s surprised when Lydia defends her to Pat.
