Charity-run stables saved by funds appeal

Stepney Bank Stables youth project has been saved thanks to a successful fundraising campaign.

The children's charity, situated in Newcastle's Ouseburn Valley, has struggled in recent years with increasing costs and decreased income.

A crowdfunding appeal was set up to raise £30,000 while the business is restructured.

The target which was successfully met on the final day of the fundraiser.

Morgan Place, Youth Project Coordinator at Stepney Bank Stables, said: "It's really heart-warming to see how many people in the community have wanted to step up and help."
