Funeral of Ugandan Olympian killed by ex-partner takes place

Thousands of people have attended the funeral of Rebecca Cheptegei, in Uganda.

The Olympian marathon runner was killed by her ex-partner, following a dispute over land.

of Uganda's armed forces carried Cheptegei's coffin and gave a three-volley salute, as she was part of the army.

The BBC's senior Africa correspondent, Anne Soy, attended the funeral and commented on how huge crowds came to honour the athlete.
