Bomb squad attends 'unexploded ordnance' on beach

A bomb disposal team has been called to reports of unexploded ordnance on the north Essex coast.

The discovery was made near Vista Road in Clacton-on-Sea, about 500m (1,640ft) from the resort's historical pier.

A HM Coastguard spokesman said two rescue teams were sent to the scene at about 13:05 BST.

Essex Police, whose officers are also in attendance, has been ed for comment.
