Mountain rescuers helped recover a lone sheep spotted close to the edge of a Derbyshire beauty spot.

The Edale Mountain Rescue team was called to assist the ewe, which was stuck above Stanage Plantation in the Peak District at about 16:21 BST on Thursday.

After a failed attempt to lasso the sheep, the team went for a "trusted technique" by lowering themselves down to the woolly animal and placing it in a sheep rescue sack.

The uninjured sheep was then checked over by its farmer and released back to graze.
