Woman in 80s seriously hurt in retail park crash

A woman in her 80s was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in a town centre shopping area.

It happened at St John's Retail Park in Bedford on Friday afternoon.

Bedfordshire Police said the woman was struck by a black Skoda at about 15:15 BST and paramedics were called.

The force has appealed for witnesses.
