Plans for small observatory in forest approved

Plans for a small timber observatory in a national park have been approved.
Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) has given permission to Forestry England to build a observatory with a retractable roof at Grizedale Forest.
It will part of the body's existing education centre in the woods.
It will house a telescope and be used for dark skies astronomy events, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS).
The observatory will be a small wooden structure based at an existing facility in The Yan.
It will provide shelter and indoor seating for visitors.
