Make a handprint rocket

Watch this video as Evie shows how you can make your own handprint rocket.

You will need
  • Paint
  • White sheet of paper
  • Coloured paper
  • Coloured pencils or felt tips
  • Scissors (grown-up use only)
  • Glue

Step 1:

First choose your favourite colour paint and make a handprint on your white sheet of paper. Keep your fingers and thumb together.

Step 2:

Whilst that is drying, draw a zig-zag line on a coloured rectangular piece of paper, to make three triangles. Ask a grown-up to help cut them out. , scissors are sharp.

Step 3:

Now cut a small square piece of coloured paper in half, to make two small rectangles.

On another piece of coloured paper, draw a circle and ask a grown-up to help you cut it out. You may need something to draw around to help you make a circle.

Step 5:

Once your handprint is dry, glue the circle onto the middle of your handprint rocket. This is the window.

Step 6:

Glue the three triangles on to your paper. One at the top, to make the cone of the rocket and then one on either side of your handprint to make the wings.

Step 7:

Next, glue the two small rectangle shapes to the bottoms of your handprint rocket, to make the boosters.

Step 8:

You can then decorate your rocket however you want. Evie has added flames to the boosters and a picture of her in the window.
